Thornton drove from Los Angeles to take on all comers on Guitar Hero during a recent American Guru promotion at Howie’s Game Shack in Mission Viejo.

“She’s good,” said Nicholas Lee, 15, of Mission Viejo.

Dana Point resident Josh Uhlar, 21, who works at Howie’s, took on Ciji while wearing an American Guru shirt. “She is incredible,” he said. “I was a really competitive gamer for a while. She’s definitely one of a kind. It’s very special to watch someone that can master a video game like that.”
