  • WCG Ultimate Gamer 2 trailer reveals SO MUCH!

    Posted by StarSlay3r On July - 21 - 2010

Yet again WCG Ultimate Gamer reveals an initial trailer that shows who most of the cast is, reveals games, and teases with a bit of drama. A couple people and I have been talking back and forth about who we thought was on the show and the trailer confirmed a good majority of these people.

    wcgug2

I CAN NOT WAIT for this show to come out. One reason why… EDITING! You can tell ALREADY from how the show was edited that they are going to show LOTS of drama. They show a well known DOA player Vanessa crying in the trailer… just like they did for me. Basically this is going to go one of two ways… Either people will just stupidly believe that that show accurately portrays everyone on it.. OR People will finally realize how “reality” tv can portray ANYONE to look like ANYTHING they want as they see their favorite gamers in a new light. I really think people need to realize people were made out to be the “bad guys” in season one when in actuality they are very nice. People like Rob were made out to be the quiet type when he’s very outgoing, talkative and fun to be around, Chelsea was the innocent girl on the show and she was the one creating most of the drama… so editing is going to play heavily on how you perceive this new batch of gamers on the show… so keep that in mind before you start talking crap again people. Ok… now that you trolls ignored ALL of what I just said… read on.

    singledout

Before I get started I wanted to touch base on a couple things. The intro… only pay attention to the people’s faces in boxes… ignore anyone that had a speaking part in the beginning…that guy followed by an asian girl you saw in the beginning of the trailer. NO, they are NOT on the show. How do I know? Lets just say I was personally told that she was the 1st person sent home from the final auditions hence why she ran home and wrote a nasty little blog with the following blurb…

    quoteoftheyear

1st- I dare you to tell that to Mark Smith, Season 1 winner who’d laugh in your face while flashing $100 bills. lol 2nd- Didn’t everyone just see you on that video AUDITIONING for a show that’s purpose is to find the BEST ALL AROUND GAMER? *Facepalm* Can you say “SALTY”? I actually saw a few ppl who talked smack about Season 1 at auditions for Season 2 also so it goes to show, people will do anything for fame and money… luckily the cast they picked had a handful of passionate gamers who were doing it for more than just the attention. Well… what you REALLY want to see starts at about 0:35 in, so go ahead and fast forward to that.

Now I’m going to start telling you a bit about the gamers that are on this cast. (AND PRODUCERS… DO NOT CALL ME YELLING AT ME AGAIN! YOU RELEASED A VERY REVEALING TRAILER!)

Let’s start with the winner of the voting contest…

jakeGAMER: Jake aka Thirstee321 Jake won the popular vote to earn his spot in the house and that is something that will hurt him BADLY! Why? Well Basically everyone else who was a candidate for the show saw the voting process, and if they were smart, would have researched his background to see that he is a very well rounded all around gamer that is part of a group called Countdown321 along with Season 1 cast member Jamal aka Zophar321. Speaking from experience, I told Jamal to tell Jake that he needed to put his xbl profile on friends only because Amy from season 1 was watching all of us like HAWKS before the official cast was announced to see who was good at what games. If anyone did that to Jake all of his weaknesses and strengths would be exposed making it easier to take him down. On top of that, since he’s the only one that all 11 other members will be familiar with, he will probably be deemed “the threat” and they will try to take him down ASAP.

    STRENGTH: Multi-Genre Gamer

    PORTRAYAL: The Threat

    PLACEMENT: Top 3

GAMER: Yaz aka Clown- A well known Counter Strike player formerly of Team OPTX who has CLEARLY stated to me several times he does NOT own an Xbox 360 and has only touched a console a few times. He was supposed to be on Season 1 but was screwed over by CGS right before the company bombed. He was promised a spot on this season, and they clearly came through with their promise. How far can he go? Well, honestly it depends SOLELY on his ability to make friends, and do well in the physical challenges because he’s going to suffer in the isolation room.

    STRENGTH: FPS games on PC

    PORTRAYAL:The likable jock

    PLACEMENT:Bottom 3

vanessaGAMER: Vanessa- A well known top DOA player, former CGS Team OPTX member and girlfriend to the well known MASTER. While I don’t know her personally, I have witnessed first hand that she is a very emotional person since I followed her progress in DOA while she was competing in the CGS series. She’s a very strong player but takes her games to heart. At world finals I saw her break down in tears for about 30 minutes when her team lost while MASTER consoled her. Does that make her a bad person? No, but it DOES mean you’re going to be seeing a lot of tears as long as she is around. Her skills in other games is unknown to me. I have never heard her mention playing other games, but I also don’t follow her too closely anymore since CGS went under. I imagine she is good at ALL fighters, other strengths are unknown.

    STRENGTH: Fighting games on console

    PORTRAYAL: The drama queen

    PLACEMENT: 6th-9th

princessGAMER: Faye aka PrincessAura Faye is known in the Street Fighter 4 and Brawl scene for… well I believe she was a top placing SSB player, but as far as Street Fighter goes, she’s just a competitor. You may notice her at every event with her friend MarkMan, she’s the girl with the blue streak in her hair. Knowing her on a somewhat personal level I have seen that she has some skill in the fighting genre and is also good at vocals for Rock Band. Where her talents extend outside of that I have no clue. While she has always been nice to me, I have heard from multiple people in the gaming industry that she is a … well… a persuasive person I’ll say. She can easily obtain what she wants, and if she took that into the house with her she could end up in a situation very similar to Chelsea from season 1 who skated by to the finals by making friends with the right people.

    STRENGTH: Fighters on console

PORTRAYAL: The cute “innocent” girl that everyone will overlook while she skates to top 6.

    PLACEMENT: 4th-6th

sebastianGAMER: Sebastian aka Chosen1 I don’t know too much about Chosen1 but I definitely know the name. He is another Multi-Genre gamer and he doesn’t take crap from ANYONE as you can see from the trailer. I really think that he’s going to be taking charge in this house and starting a fight or two. I don’t think he intends on being friends with anyone to make it to the top and will dominate purely on his skill.

    STRENGTH: Multi-Genre Gamer

    PORTRAYAL: The trouble maker

    PLACEMENT: Top 6

ajGAMER: AJ aka HatPerson While most of you will be saying “who is this guy?” I know him pretty well. AJ was the tech guy for the Rockathon charity Rock Band marathon that I did in Houston last year along with Prod1gy X. When we needed an extra person because someone fell asleep or just couldn’t do it anymore, AJ would step in as an expert guitarist, vocalist or drummer. His strength in Rythm games is well known to me and he is also a very strong Street Fighter player. On top of that I remember him telling me that he’s a pretty well rounded gamer before he auditioned and obviously, it’s true if he made the show because unlike the first two gamers I mentioned, he does not have a huge name for himself… YET. Since no one in the house will really know who he is, I think he’s going to be the biggest threat to everyone without them knowing it.

    STRENGTH: Multi-genre gamer

PORTRAYAL: The quiet shy type that will be quietly planning his plot to destroy everyone behind the scenes

    PLACEMENT: Top 6

justinGAMER: Justin Wong aka Jwong THE MOST recognizable player in the fighting game community, I believe Justin Wong is going to be the most well known gamer on the show. While he’s top in the nation for various versions of Street Fighter, TvC, MvC and more, no one has ever seen Justin attempt to go pro in another genre. Does that mean Justin is ONLY a fighting game player? Well, yes, he is, but that doesn’t mean he’s not multi-talented. I talked to Justin while he was practicing for auditions and he passed all of the game auditions with only a short amount of time to practice each game. While he did not like having to do cramming practice sessions, apparently they paid off. While my initial instinct was that Justin was going to bomb and be the first person out unless Game 1 was SSF4, I now think he’d make it just a bit further after seeing the rest of the cast. Justin being on WCGUG2 will either make or break his career either further boosting his already huge success, or in the event of poor portrayal, can cause him to lose a large amount of his fan base and respect in the community, especially if he gets knocked out in the first episode. Here’s the twist though… Justin is good friends with Faye Mata in real life. I predict an alliance between them DAY 1.

    STRENGTH: Fighting Games on console

PORTRAYAL: The cocky one who will probably say things to start trouble because he knows how to work those mind games!

PLACEMENT: Bottom 3 (Unfortunately. I <3 you though Justin. Prove me wrong please!)

rachelGAMER: Rachel aka PMS Seltzer This gamer is not one I’m very familiar with. I know OF her but don’t know her well. Apparently she’s a FPS console player. My friends and I believe that was her in the opening shot where it shows the boxes around peoples faces. You can see her next to the well known Guitar Hero pro WitWix. Not knowing much about her but only a bit about her personality and going off a few things I heard about her strategy in the house… I see her as the type that will turn on a few people to get to the top.

    STRENGTH: FPS games on console

    PORTRAYAL: The backstabber

    PLACEMENT: 6th-9th

    kat
GAMER: Katherine aka Mystik I don’t know much about her but was told the following: She is a pro gamer, and was a member of the Carolina Core team for the Female DOA4 division in the now-defunct CGS league. That makes 3 players from CGS.

    STRENGTH: Fighting games on console

PORTRAYAL: Nobody has really told me much about her personality so I don’t know how she’ll be portrayed.

    PLACEMENT: 6th-9th

ryanbGAMER: Ryan aka RyBu Oh boy! I got all giddy like a school girl when I found out Ryan was on the show. I had the pleasure of meeting Ryan at the Los Angeles casting call and he was instantly one of my favorite people. If you remember my video from Day 1 casting calls you’ll remember a guy saying “Ryan Burnett Portland, Oregon WCG Ultimate Gamer right here baby!” Well… he definitely had the right mentality going into it and I know first hand that he is very good at Rhythm, FPS and Fighting games. It appears as though the only areas he has problems with are Sports and Racing.

STRENGTH: Rhythm, Fighting and FPS games on console

PORTRAYAL: The nice guy that everyone overlooks as he takes top 3.

Placement: Top 3 (I wouldn’t be surprised if he won actually)

GAMES EXPOSED: NHL 10 (Euw), Tekken 6 (awww did Capcom say no to SSF4?), Forza Motorsport 3, Battlefield Bad Company 2, Mario Kart (WTF?). I’m not super surprised by this set of games… the only one that threw me off was Mario Kart, but I guess that goes to show they DID take our recommendations to include more systems not just Xbox 360 this time around. I was surprised, however to see what looked like Wii Sports resort or something which looks like a multi part challenge. That… looked… STUPID. It also appears as though Wii Sports Resort will be the first game in the series. Also they more than likely WILL have one PC game on the show and our guess is that BFBC2 will be played on PC. Other then that, the real life challenges are pretty similar to what we did for season 1 and OF COURSE someone doesn’t know how to drive and almost killed people again. Dammit! Did they put Dante back on the cast?

NEW RULE: I was also told about a new rule to this years show. Apparently the winner for each game/real life challenge overall is NOT allowed to place themselves against the last place person. This new rule will make the show a million times more interesting since TWICE on season 1 we had to deal with 1st going against last which resulted in the last place person going home both times. With everyone knowing that THEY could be placed against the last place person at any point in time, that adds some extra tension and will make the show that much more interesting. Good call guys, but wish that was implemented in season 1!

    carcrash

The most interesting part to this show is that the final 2 people have not played yet. We have NO idea who won the show because they don’t play until WCG grand finals in Los Angeles, CA this year. This is an AMAZINGLY smart plan by their marketing team to get more people to attend the WCG World Finals. Kudos marketing experts… I applaud you. What else does this mean? This means that the two finalists get to practice their ASS off all the way up until that point. I think that’s a bit unfair because on Season 1 we could only practice each game 1 day before we were expected to play it for isolation and they also kept to that system for the finals between Mark and Rob. If they didn’t already have experience with that game then they literally had one night to learn the game. I believe THAT was a true test to how good these gamers are, now these guys get to sit at home and practice? Well guess what WCG… you messed up there. Why? Well because anyone who knows these people’s gamer tags is just going to watch which 2 cast members are practicing the same games every day and we’ll be able to tell who is in the top 2 from that. If you haven’t already started trying this theory out… good luck on that because I’m sure the producers are going to tell them to put their stuff on private once they read this. lol

    wcgfinals

Well… I look forward to Season 2. It’s supposed to August 19th and I’m DEFINITELY going to watch. I can’t wait to see how they dealt with experiencing what we went through. They’re lucky however… I heard filming was only a couple weeks for them. We had to endure a whole month of living together. -_- I will be posting updates as I find out who more people are. KEEP CHECKING BACK and COMMENT! I would wish all of you who are on the cast good luck… but the time has passed. So good luck to the top 2 people and to the rest of you… prepare for hatemail. :p Sad… but true…

OH! And don’t try to call your friends who are on the show and asking them what happened because if they DO tell they’ll get in big trouble and we all know you can’t keep your mouth shut… so leave em alone. ^_~ You’ll find out what happened soon. I know it’s hard to contain yourself… but if you get your friend sued they’ll hate you forever. -_-*

Hey Ciji! I really enjoyed Season 1, and almost tried out for Season 2, maybe next time :(

Anyways, this season looks good. I have to say I’m a fan of the finals for Season 2 as I’ll be there to see it! That’s the one thing I was bummed about last season, is I could have seen it live but they didn’t say where it was or anything.

I am really rooting for Justin, having gotten to know him pretty well since he moved to SoCal. I hope he wins it! Bummed to see no StarCraft gamers this time (was a HUGE fan of Geoff last season).

Will be watching every week for sure and excited about it!

really good article im really surprised that justin wong ia in the cast. between EVO and the up coming SBO im really surprised that he had time to put in an audition. should be really fun to watch. i think that once the rest of the cast (other than faye) sees justiin walk in that loft door , he will be automatically targeted just because of his status as one of the best sf players out there. again great article, you should do like pre and post show commentary when it comes out.

Great read, Ciji. I’m shocked actually to see Justin Wong on the list. I figured that they wouldn’t cast someone that’s such a big household name. I mean sWooZie and MASTER are big, but Wong is about as well known as Daigo in the states. I like the dude a lot but I gotta root for Vanessa as long as she’s there. I don’t know her personally but I hang with MASTER a lot so I’d love for her to do well. And I’m glad you put the last part in there. I’m now resisting the urge to call MASTER and ask him how she did. lol

I am SOOO excited for season 2! I went to the NYC audition and made it past the first round to the little room with the questions and the camera. I met HatPerson and Ive known Seltzer for a few years. I knew that Seltzer was a shoe in, she just has that spark. Shes skilled and her personality and randomness will be awesome for the show. HatPerson was really pretty quiet for the most part but the second round of auditions gave me more of a look into his personality. He really just kinda came out of nowhere with a lot of really indepth intellectual insight on gaming as a whole and other random stuff. So talking to him made me kinda step back like, whoa. Just something different for sure.

Anyway, I was too busy handing out Video game remix mixtapes to really get to know ALL the people auditioning, Should be a good season for sure.

@Tim Nothing mean toward Kat, just saying if I didn’t know who she was and knew nothing about her. Feel free to fill me in.

@Kat I am not a fighting scene aficionado… I am new to street fighter and only followed a select few DOA players from CGS, and that was Swoozie, Master and Vanessa. Other then that I payed no attention to anyone else in the CGS series in the fighting game genre. I am just like every other gamer… I have my favorite players I follow and I don’t know about EVERYONE. -_- As I said to Tim, feel free to fill me in. I’m honestly clueless as to how she got on the show and I’d be more than happy to learn why so I can update my post.

    11. Joy Said,

Heh, I’d like to see seltzer portrayed as the backstabber. Knowing her for a long time and before she got into console gaming, back when she played PC FPS’s, she’s super chill and really only cares about gaming and random adorable pets. As for adding a PC game in there, I can only hope, I can’t wait to see some FPS on the PC and people freaking out. I think that’s one flaw in the marketing of WCG is they totally undermine the hardcore dedication of the PC gamer crowd. Nothing PC gamers would like better to be recognized as challenging and their favorite games in the spotlight. WCG still has 1.6 in their line up and that game is how many years old and people still resolutely play it? WCG hopefully got some of their act together and are eying the PC gamer crowd to get in on this Ultimate Gamer, well more than just clown.

Easy guys, this is a difficult situation for someone to be in, since one of these contestants she had to pick to come in last. Just the way it works in a competition where only 1 person can win. So when Ciji made her predictions, picking someone to lose early is inevitable! I know Ciji doesnt hate Kat, but thinks that others will go farther, based on her personal knowledge of these other people. I personally loved the work that went into this and think it was a great job!

Meh mostly all people ive crushed repeatedly in real tournaments or never heard of lol…with the only exception being that ive never beaten justin wong in a fighting game =/ oh well kinda like season 1.

atleast Vanessa is on the show, isnt she the only one on season two so far that actually has the skill and determination to actually qualify for a wcg national final? let alone actually sign up to compete…(yeah thats a rare quality amongst WCG ultimate gamers lol)

if the cast is at nats this year, i look forward to crushing c1 3-0 in tekken 6 again just to hear his excuses again lol… some of the best ive heard.

@Joy Yeah I don’t know how she’ll be portrayed. There’s still Kat and another girl I can’t find out who she is so they might portray one of them as that type… but you know someone is going to get portrayed that way!

@K1F1Re Of all the girls I think I’m rooting for Vanessa the most. I was honestly hoping Master would be on too because I think that’d be a cool concept to have a GF/BF in the house fighting for 1st. She’s a strong player, but it looks like she might let her emotions get to her a bit too much (like myself) and speaking from experience, that could hurt her placement. :(

Kifire, always so salty! Maybe if you were more mature and likable, you would be given some of these opportunities you’re so jealous of. And WCG Nationals are not the penultimate…just as far as you’ve ever gotten. It looks like the contestants this season come from a number of different but very legitimate competitive scenes.

Starslayer, what happened to the picture of the yelling guy? Did you find out who he is?

Chosen is definitely a competitor, if only because the game is half mental. If he can get everyone to believe he’s the best, they might be scared into screwing up. I’ve met Seltzer before and she’s super nice. What stunts has she tried to pull?

Posted on July 22nd, 2010 at 7:13 pm

    16. StarSlay3r Said,

@Arti LoL Ehh he’s just using my page to vent, no need to tease. -_- And yes, it looks like a good 1/3 of the cast is all from CGS. I am surprised they have 3 people from there, but I know they were pretty upset that CGS basically told them they couldn’t cast some of the people they wanted last season, so guess they took advantage of the series being defunct now.

As for the guy yelling pic. I took it down because it was messing up the format of my post plus I couldn’t get a clear shot of his face. I am still curious who that was. He looks like someone from Jersey Shore. -_-

As for Chosen… yeah I think he definitely knows what’s up with the mind games. I look forward to seeing how all of this pans out. ^_^

As for Seltzer, I wont go there because what I was told was directly related to what she wanted to do while on the show… so I can’t talk about it. -_- I don’t know if she did it or not… just waiting like all of you to watch and see how it pans out. ^_^

    19. KiF1rE Said,

Arti… I know i speak my mind alot, but saying what they really think is something that not many people can truly do. but i did have a point this is WCG ultimate gamer, not CGS/MLG ultimate gamer lol. but heh this show really brings out the worst in me really lol, im generally the silent type that just wins and seeks out competition.

and on the topic of c1, he definitely knows mind games and how to put on a show. but even if you can see past that, it really just isnt all show. C1 is definitely scary as a competitor in this type of competition due to the amount he practices and is determined. I still say his whole act that he puts on was all just to hype himself for this show, showing how determined he is. Which is why he was so successful, as the show is not about skill, its mostly about personality, etc… hey i didn’t say that, i was told that in my audition lol…(though not the direct quote, and note i didn’t even get to a taped audition either lol) The main thing i learned from my audition, is that i suck at interviews, i tried to be myself as much as possible, which is why i failed. I need to work on the whole marketing myself as myself as that is who i wish to be.

oh and while watching the trailer again, i think im in it, though im not sure, in the chicago section when the people are walking into the room theres a guy sitting in a chair covered completely by the door except for an arm. Thats me atleast i think ^^ as those guys did walk into the room as i was doing that err whatever bash fest vs the hard cpu in street fighter test =/

though i am retiring from this whole jumping from game to game stuff soon, and switching purely to starcraft 2. which is going to be fun playing a game that i enjoy playing after months of beta and that the competitive scene wont die out in a month after release.

PS. if anyone knows how to work on image and how to improve let me know… As im the guy that shows up to events does well or wins, and disappears like a ninja standing in broad daylight. Though a bit of a paradox, I didnt vanish or have some form of invisibility, everyone just forgot i was there. My favorite quote from wcg is, paul “Wait who are you again?” sadly this was only like 5 minutes after just talking to him when i took 3rd in a national final… Another good quote from a small event near where i live,”now where did the guy that won that tournament go?” this happened while standing right next to him,he then had to go rewatch the match streams as he didnt remember that i won or even played for that matter, as he tried to tell me that the area i was in was for competitors only… yes im that forgettable and i really dont see or understand how thats really possible… =/

    21. StarSlay3r Said,

@KiF1rE That’s actually a really good question! While people like to talk smack about me… everyone knows my name… why? I make myself memorable. There’s just a few things you need to do… it’s not hard.

1- Talk to everyone. If you’re off being all cocky at that tournament like you’re going to win and you’re too good to associate with people, of course no one is going to know you. Put your ego aside for a bit and introduce yourself to everyone and tell them your gamer tag, since most likely they wont remember you by your name. Gamer tags are more unique and memorable.

2- The way you look matters. While ppl might wanna rag on how prodigy and I dress… we stand out. You don’t have to dress all goth or punk to stand out, dress how you like but do something like wearing a jersey with your gamer tag on it, or hat with your tag on it… something with your own style that is also custom. If you don’t want to do anything like that then toting around a custom peripheral with a skin on it is also something good to do. It draws attention and tells people who you are at the same time.

3- Stay active in the community. Go to the forums for the games you play… go to local practice sessions and things like that to keep in touch with the community. You might just make some new friends and it gives people a reason to keep talking about you when they start tweeting or writing on forums about how “KiF1rE showed up to practice with us today… good games” etc. You really need to give back to the community, not just go to tournaments and make it all about you. If you’re as good as you say you are, showing up to local events and helping others to level up will get you respect, and keep people talking about you.

Being a talented gamer is only half of the work… if you want people to know who you are you have to do the community thing too. It seems like you are a bit cocky (hey nothing wrong with that) but if you are overly cocky and keep to yourself a lot you can really turn ppl off.

    23. KiF1rE Said,

      @starslayer

i dont see myself as really cocky, im more of a confident type individual, that is a bit on the arrogant side of accidentally rubbing in what i have done to much. But im always a good sport at events, shaking hands after matches etc.

      1. I usually do try to talk to everyone, However you probably dont even remember meeting me lol ,granted yeah we didnt talk long, but things are hectic during events and stuff… I usually do go with just gamertag. as if you say your full name plus gamertag, Swoozie generally does the loser sign and stares at you lol. (well he did that once to a friend of mine when he was about to cast the finals of a tournament between us) I really dont want to brush this one aside, but i dont think this is really my issue, its kind of a compounding type thing that goes along with the whole lasting impression issue. which see points 2 and 3. This is one of the reasons why i’ve also kept the same gamer tag for years despite recurring issues with it. Such as im no longer the only one, and it being mistaken for a some form of russian word that isnt even close to it in pronunciation….

      2. I realize that, ive usually just tried to look respectable. IE collared shirt etc, while trying to stay laid back, which is me. Generally it is all black though. However i wouldnt mind changing that style a bit if it could still be me etc. As for peripherals etc getting custom ones are a bit difficult, for 2 reasons… 1.I suck at art so i really cant do it myself… 2. I’m quite poor as i live entirely off my gaming winnings, No job see the recurring issue with interviews and being memorable here.. so i really cant afford much. Basically i know i have issues in this department, but no idea how to really change that.

3.when i said local, its something i drive like 3 to 4 hours to…and by the way what is a local practice session? there is like very little local community where i live. Something im going to try to change for SC2 as im talking with a few people about it now. and then hopefully i wont have to drive as far

As for forums im generally on the forums for the games i play, giving tech support advice etc and other things. The issue is, when i no longer play that game, i become forgotten again. As essentially the core community stays or moves to something else.
Along with the topic of forums, im trying to be more vocal and spreading out a bit more, but like you said i come off very cocky and when i think about it i also come off a bit more douchey then i want as well… But im not really sure how to change that while trying to be vocal at the same time. What happens is see my first post here… I’m really tying to make a change but whenever i do, i dont like who im becoming so i try to revert back.

I thank you for your advice though, i still seem to feel as lost as ever though.

The last person after Cesar is named Michael, I sent Ciji some info on this guy. I think he is primarily a sports gamer. Hes part of vVv. Theres a youtube video of him, and he seems like guy who could be very popular within the house, and not a trouble maker.

I am really looking forward to seeing how well these contestants play the Wii games this season. During my audition I told casting the Wii was my strongest platform (I’m solid on 360 BTW) and the casting director brushed me off, saying, “But we’re playing 360 games here.” I felt screwed big time.

Anyway, I will be watching the Wii episode(s) like a hawk. I WON’T be expecting anyone on the show to be near my level. That is all.

    26. Gravekeeper67 Said,

Do you really think the game titles they showed in the trailer are really gonna be in the show? Isn’t it possible that they just put false games up in the trailer? I may be wrong, but it just doesn’t seem like a smart thing to do to show everybody what games they would be playing. It kind of ruins things you know. I like not knowing what games there playing until they tell you on the actual show.

Hi starslay3r nice blog. I think I met clown and hatperson before. justin prolly doesnt remember me but I played him at E3. I played princess aura in the starcraft 2 beta b4 and she raped me the 2 times we played. I was impressed with her knowledge of old skool games. its cool to see thirstee cuz I voted for him. I think he will win. i am rooting for thirstee and princess aura. this will be a good season.

    29. StarSlay3r Said,

@Royal Lance Weird! I don’t get why they would have made that comment to you knowing they wanted to use multiple systems since about last year. -_- Sorry to hear. Maybe they were worried you’d just destroy everyone. ^_~

@Gravekeeper Haha the games they said were going to be on the show WILL be on the show. They did the same thing for Ultimate Gamer season 1 they showed PGR4, VF5, Rock Band and I think one other game in the trailer and there was no fake out with that trailer. They HAVE to say what some of the games are to get people interested. Tekken itself has a HUGE following and just mentioning that will get people who love the game to watch to both see how well they do and to most likely trash talk about how they should have been on the show because they’re the best Tekken player in existence. ^_~ In short, no, I don’t believe the trailer was misleading in any way.

      @Markman ^_~

@xLingR Thank you! I’m glad you got to meet these people in person. The great thing about you is that you know these gamers are all very talented. A lot of times people think that Ultimate Gamer is a joke show and that all the people on the show are hired actors/actresses… it’s good to know that people are going to be saying “hey, these guys are legit!” so this season will be received well. ^_^

    30. xLingR Said,

yeah np. lol clown just looks really familiar from in person and I know he dominates counterstrike. hatperson makes funny videos I found his website @ kickpunchblock.com if u wanna add it. princess aura is rly good @ rts and pro smash bros the only time I met her in person she won a tournament in chicago. I didnt even think she played xbox tho so I dont think she will win. =\\ ya she is rly nice tho so maybe she will get far. Im still rooting 4 her hehe. thirstee just seems like he is good @ everything so he will become the ultimate gamer this season. I am still shocked he beat out jade and tunesha in the vote but it goes to show the real demographic is real gamers. his videos and interviews are impressive I thought jade would win @ first. they are all good gamers tho so yea they are not actors. I noticed they picked a lot of good looking ppl tho so maybe its hard to get on if ur rly fat and ugly or something lol some of the best gamers look like grease slobs lol! but then no1 would watch.

She is an amazing gamer. Very VERY knowledgeable. One of the few in the gaming industry/community that I actually go to for advice.

    33. Robin "Renegade" Palm Said,

justin isn’t just the most talented fighting game player in the U.S… I believe he’s the most talented gamer, period. Kid learns so quick and completely destroys you.

Justin won’t get last in anything, and when people pick him in the elimination challenge, he’ll win.

Not to mention there will be at least two fighting games (T6, VF5) on the roster. Those are auto firsts for justin. If they dont have SSFIV, it’d be a damn shame since that’s why they picked the guy.

Justin gets 1st-3rd depending on the selection of the last games.

Wow Ciji, that’s a breakdown if I have ever seen one! LOL. Good shit though, I like the insight. This article may be a little better than the actual series. Well, I gotta say that I am rooting for the females..(Vanessa is pretty damn cute…and if she reads this then props..) so yeah, I might be a little biased with Justin too because honestly I know him a long ass time from the days of early arcade meetups to both of us now moving to Cali! So honestly I wish him the best of luck cause it’s been a pretty long road and if this cements it for him, then power to him as I’ve seen alot of personal changes along the way and think despite his “fighting game prowess” that he can adapt to many genres. Fighting gamers can adapt to many..hell I used to DDR like Micheal Flately and played MOH back in the day like it was going outta style..but yes..JWong and “Vanessa”..get my vote…but only time will tell I guess..
